Grant Writing Support Series, Webinar 1 - Developing Needs Assessment
Join the 21st CCLC National Technical Assistance Center (NTAC) for this three-part series on how to improve your grant application. This series is for new grantees and non-grant writers who want to improve the quality of the proposal. During this session we will walk you through the components of an effective needs assessment, and how to gather community, school, student, and family input. A comprehensive needs assessment, including qualitative and quantitative data from various sources, should inform your grant proposal. You will learn about: levels of data, strategies for data gathering, and how to use data to write needs statements and goals.

Monitoring Changes - Beginning With 2024-25 School Year
Grantees will no longer be placed into one of three 'monitoring cohort numbers' for monitoring selections. DESE Afterschool staff will annually conduct a risk assessment to help guide the selection of monitoring each year for on-site, phone and/or self-assessment monitoring. Any grantee could be selected in any year for any one of the three monitoring types. A 2024-25 monitoring schedule will be posted on the Afterschool Portal under the monitoring green tab by the end of September.
