This is another great opportunity for additional professional development. All trainings provided here will automatically count toward the DHSS clock-hour requirement.

COVID-19 & Kids ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) will provide up-to-date information and support for health care, school and public health professionals across Missouri. A team of pediatric infectious disease physicians and other experts will share information about the latest developments, answer questions and discuss management of de-identified patient and student cases presented by participants. The Missouri Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing and MU’s Missouri Telehealth Network are partnering to support primary care physicians and other providers, school leaders and nurses and local public health agencies to improve the health and well-being of Missouri children.

The STEM Educator Symposium, held during STEM Week on Tuesday, March 2, will provide professional development and resources for STEM educators from a variety of formal and informal settings. Hosted by the Missouri AfterSchool Network and the Missouri Math and Science Coalition, the STEM Educator Symposium is open to all afterschool professionals, classroom teachers, STEM coordinators, science museum and library staff, and other STEM partners. Have you visited the Missouri AfterSchool Network YouTube page lately? You will find lots of engaging videos there to help you with your afterschool program and inspire you to try new ideas with the students you serve. Highlights include the “COVID” Conference playlist featuring over 25 virtual professional development videos from the past year. These videos have Missouri afterschool peers and nationally known speakers as the presenters. Topics cover social emotional learning, STEM, motivating staff, healthy living and many more. The people and programs who were honored are available in the 2020 Lights on Afterschool playlist. Videos on using the Kids Care Center will walk you through using the system.
